Smoking has become a lot common today, and no matter how common it is, it is still harmful to our health and fitness.

These chemicals are not only harmful to the smoker. They also affect anyone else who inhales the smoke while you are smoking. This phenomenon is known as “Passive Smoking.” It is unintentionally inhaling smoke from a smoker into your lungs.


Smoking can cause early death. Smoking damages every organ and consumes it slowly. Smoking leads to a painful death. Many of these deaths are due to lung failure, Heart attack, and strokes, as well as multi-organ failure.

Women who smoke after or during the pregnancy period increase the risk of their child’s death by (SIDS)  Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. This shows that smoking is too dangerous to practice for pregnant women. Men who smoke are also prone to sexual inabilities.


Smoking is the number one risk of lung cancer. In the United States, more than 81% of deaths due to lung cancer are related to smoking. Smoking any products like a cigar, pipes, cigarettes, and e-cigarettes, etc. Anything that contains tobacco is involved in lung cancer. The risk of dying due to lung cancer increases as a person continues smoking. 

Even smoking does not often increase the risk of lung cancer and the risk of dying due to lung cancer. Even if you are not smoking but inhale someone else’s smoke, which is a smoker, you develop a chance of getting lung cancer. Also called lung cancer due to secondhand smoke or passive smoking.


When a person keeps smoking, his airways are affected, and he develops a particular type of cough that is named a smoker’s cough. This occurs when the body tends to throw out the pollution that accumulates in the passage of a person’s breathing system. 

It starts as a dry cough in the beginning but may eventually begin producing Phlegm. Phlegm is a kind of mucus produced in the lungs and lower respiratory tract. It is often thrown out during coughing through the mouth.


The person who is a long term smoker develops yellowish stains on his teeth as a result of continued smoking. These may lead to cancer of the mouth. Persisting tobacco use while smoking or even chewing any product that contains tobacco leads to increasing the risk of mouth cancer.


Smoking increases the risks of clots inside your veins and arteries. This can lead to arteriosclerosis and deep venous thrombosis. Continuous smoking may lead to clot development in the heart, which can lead to a heart attack. 

Furthermore, if the blood clots are formed inside the blood vessels of the brain leads to stroke. Clots formed inside the body can harm the body to a considerable extent. They can reduce the functionality of your organs.


Smoking is injurious to the health of people who have breathing diseases like asthma and bronchitis and are at a huge risk of making their condition worse due to smoking. Smoking can increase irritation and block the passage of breathing.


Smoking is injurious to health as it contains Nicotine. Nicotine has two disadvantages. Firstly, it is a highly addictive substance. Secondly, it tends to shrink the blood vessels and make them tight, due to which the flow of blood is affected. This can affect your blood pressure and can also lead to a heart attack.


Smoking affects taste buds. A person who is a regular smoker cannot get the full taste of his food, which is very unlucky for us as humans. Imagine eating food that you cannot even tastefully eat. On the other hand, if a person stops smoking, it is most likely that his tastebuds will return to their initial condition.


Any type of smoking is so addictive that it is very hard to back off from it once you have started it. This makes you dependent on smoking. This leads to addiction, leading to anxiety and mental health problems such as stress, tension, depression, etc. Though this is in the benefits of meditation to release and decrease your stress but still try not to develop it for the first time.


Tobacco may accumulate on the clothes and in the hair of a person who smokes cigarettes regularly. This can lead to smelly hair and clothes, which is so annoying not only for the smoker but also for the people around him. It makes it so uncomfortable for anyone to sit around him.
